Miniature Hamburger

I was inspired to create a miniature hamburger because my cousin has been craving for one for so many days now and she has been posting it on facebook... haha.

So here it is.

Miniature Cheeseburger

I used a peach colored paper for the buns of the miniature hamburger and used a red paper , roll it up into a tight coil, to make 2 pieces of tomatoes. I've also made some green lettuce using 1 big tight coil and small loose coils to make the outside leaves. Then a yellow paper that I molded into a square to make the cheese.

Then I just rolled up a white Oslo paper for the milkshake :)

Tea Time!

I finally have the guts to try 3d quilling and my first project for this is the quilled teapot and teacup.
I must say that creating the body for the teapot was really easy, I thought that would be the hard part but it wasn't.

Miniature Cake Inspiration #1

I was looking through photographs of miniature cakes on the web and saw some really cute ones that I love to do as a quilled cake. Most of the ones I saw on the web are created using polymer clay, and I wondered if I could do them using paper :)

Here's the first one I created and will be the first for this Series of Miniature Cakes inspired by existing cakes from the web.

Quilled Cake

The toppings included quilled strawberries, quilled blueberries, kiwi - seeds were made using a toothpick and pen ink, orange and green leaves for embellishment.

I covered the top with Elmer's glue and dried it using a hair dryer to make it shiny.

Miniature Cupcakes

I've always wanted to make miniature cupcakes, because in real life... I love eating them! haha.
So after purchasing some new pastel colored papers, I decided to make me some miniature cupcakes with the use of the quilling technique.

I've also added a red tiny heart on each of the miniature cupcakes for a touch of love :)

Miniature Chocolate Cake

I was thinking of someways to use my left over strips of paper all together and I found a very interesting cake that enabled me to use all the colored papers together.

1 cm strips of paper

Then I paired them up and glued one end together.

Then I started rolling them up to form the base.

Then I crumpled some strips of brown colored paper and covered the whole base. I created a smaller base to create a 2 decker cake.

I rolled some small pieces of white cardboard paper to add a "piping" design of icing at the bottom of each layer. I've also added some paper roses to the cake to finish the look.

The cake looks gorgeous, to me at least, with the other cakes I've made recently.

New Cakes

Lay back days are my favorite. You get to hang around the house, eat, sleep and watch movies anytime you like. But for me, I like making things specially miniature paper cakes!

The Bachelor's Cake

I created a new miniature cake using the quilling technique and I call it, the Bachelor's cake. It's very simple, very elegant (I guess). It's a perfect fit for guys since it's only black and white and has a tie decoration at the front.

Here it is :)

I've put on a simple black rose at the top of the cake to add a little feminine touch to the manly cake :)

Little Brother's Envelope

My little brother handed me a brown envelope yesterday and asked if I could put on some design to it. He said to go crazy with the design and he has no idea what he wants.

So I did, I did go a little crazy and tried out quilling his initials on to the envelope. This is my first time to do monogram quilling so excuse my lack of design patterns :)

I started of by drawing his initials to the envelope, M and J. Then I traced the outline using black colored paper.

The toothpick there is my quilling tool. I haven't found the actual tool yet and I've already visited almost all the craft store near our place. Maybe I'm just not looking far enough eh? :D

After finishing his initials, I added some design at the bottom corner since he requested some colors to the design.

And here's the completed look.

So my brother told me that this was for his Math subject.. I really don't get what the envelope designing has to do with Math, but I'm just happy with the outcome and my brother is happy too.

Different Quilled Flowers

These are the flowers I made way back when I was just starting to test my skills in quilling. I remember buying all sorts of colored paper in a local supply store and imagining all the quilled creations I'll make in the future.

I started making different quilled patterns and shapes and putting them together and making quilled flowers...

Paper Flowers

I've been trying to create my own paper flowers lately and to tell you honestly, it's not as easy as it seem. It's a bit complicated for me since I'm a "newbie" at quilling.

I hope to get better in the future because I really really love making paper flowers for my miniature cakes and soon on my cards.
